A micro school is a small, relationship-focused learning environment that blends the best of homeschooling and traditional education. It offers personalized instruction, strong community, and flexibility, all within a structured classroom setting.

  •  Small class sizes (typically 8–16 students)
  • Individualized learning pace
  • Close teacher-student relationships
  • Hands-on, real-life learning experiences
  • Less “one-size-fits-all,” more intentional and meaningful education

Micro schools are often described as a bridge between homeschooling and private school.

  • Students attend classes in person
  • Parents are not responsible for full instruction
  • Learning still feels personal, flexible, and family-centered

  • More individualized attention
  • Strong academic support
  • Nurturing, close-knit community
  • Focus on character, faith, and life skills
  • Less overwhelm and more joy in learning

Micro schools can operate independently or pursue accreditation over time. Many focus first on high-quality education and strong outcomes, while maintaining flexibility to serve students well.

Micro schools are ideal for families who want:

  • A faith-based or values-aligned education
  • Smaller, safer learning environments
  • More personalized academic support
  • A break from the traditional system

A day in a micro school often includes:

  • Core academics (reading, math, writing, science, history)
  • Hands-on learning and projects
  • Outdoor or experiential learning
  • Time for creativity, collaboration, and life skills
  • A break from the traditional system

Micro schools focus on discipleship over punishment—teaching responsibility, respect, and growth through real-life moments and guidance.

No—micro schools are not co-ops. Co-ops are typically parent-led. Micro schools are teacher-led and professionally structured.

Families are seeking:

  • More intentional education
  • Safer and more supportive environments
  • Stronger alignment with their values
  • A place where their child is truly able to be supported and thrive.
